Senior Operations Lead
About the role
This is a small startup, and this is a role for someone who likes that. There's no big team to hand things off to — so when something needs doing, you do it. You'll get your feet and your hands dirty, own messy problems end to end, and make the whole thing run smoother because you're here.
The best part is the range. In the span of a few days you might be planning our presence at Oshkosh, helping run a recruiting loop, unblocking product and engineering on something operational, and then going up in an airplane to test a feature in the air. If moving between wildly different projects energizes you instead of stressing you out, you'll love it here. You'll work directly with the founder.
What you'll do
- Own whatever needs owning — events, vendors, logistics, tooling, recruiting support, partnerships with flight schools and clubs
- Plan and run our presence at events like Oshkosh, from logistics to the people on the ground
- Jump in wherever the team is blocked — product, engineering, customer support, you name it
- Build the systems — increasingly AI-powered — that let a small team operate like a much larger one
- Get in the airplane when it helps: test features, gather real-world feedback, see the product the way pilots do
What we're looking for
- 4+ years in operations or a generalist startup role; you thrive when no two days look the same
- A bias to action — you'd rather start, learn, and adjust than wait for a perfect plan
- Organized and systems-minded — you turn chaos into repeatable process
- Comfortable using AI tooling to automate the busywork and free the team for judgment calls
- Aviation background or an active pilot is a real plus (and a willingness to fly is a bonus)
